Massive Reduction in Rejoin Support

Following what has been a pretty solid few weeks of the Brexit pandora's box of debate being reopened by the Labour leadership challenges, the monthly BMG polling for the i newspaper has shown a 12-point swing in support for staying out of the EU. As has been demonstrated on over 60 occasions in the past few years, whenever rejoin supporters are confronted with the reality of EU membership terms - even those that were already the case when we were previously members - large quantities of rejoin supporters change their minds and opt to stay out of the EU instead. This was most recently demonstrated in a Survation poll for LabourList, which showed 40% of rejoiners change their minds when confronted with just the reality of needing to adopt the Euro. This was also shown in the QMUL polling conducted last August by YouGov, where the majority of people wanted the UK Government alone to be responsible for creating laws in 20 areas of policy that would either be partially or fully in control of the EU if the UK was to still be a member.

We here at Britain Unbound are glad to see that the Labour leadership attempt to reopen the Brexit debate is backfiring, and more and more people are realising that what they actually want is a competent British government able to implement the policies desired by the British people.
