About us

Britain Unbound is the leading non-partisan campaign group for a sovereign and independent UK, with voices from both the Left and the Right, as well as the non-aligned.

We bring together independent thinkers from across politics and public life, united in our desire to promote and support the UK’s continued independence outside the EU, our constitution and laws, and our culture and values.

Why now?

We were initially formed to draw attention to the risk that the so-called UK-EU “reset” would drag the UK back into the EU’s control by the back door and under even worse terms. These fears are being confirmed.

However, the Prime Minister Andy Burnham has now fired the starting gun on a whole new debate. He will use the UK-EU summit in November to “lay out to the country what I believe the different options are for Britain’s long-term relationship with our European partners”.

He has suggested that there are three options: form a new customs union, rejoin the Single Market, or go all the way and become a full member of the EU again.

We want to keep a fourth option on the table – staying out of the EU altogether and making much more of the Brexit freedoms.
