Another day passes, and another poll comes out that shatters the dreams of the rejoiners. This time it is the turn of Ipsos, who released as part of a pack of Brexit polling, a singular chart that ends the debate completely as regards rejoining the EU.
When asked which option was the closest to their view, a majority of those asked (our old favourite 52%) said that they would prefer to have total control over who was able to immigrate to the UK, even if that meant that we had to have a more distant relationship with the EU.
This bombshell polling, not only ends any realistic support for rejoining the EU - as that would mean Freedom of Movement, being part of the Schengen Zone and the EU Migration Pact - but it also dents the intentions of the EU Reset negotiations which also looks to reintroduce mobility for those under 35.
