GB News Footage of Border Crossings

Yesterday evening saw GB News release exclusive footage of hundreds of illegal migrants crossing the border from Turkey into the EU, using ladders and tunnels to gain entry at unguarded sections of the border in Bulgaria. From there these migrants, mostly originating from Iraq, Iran and Syria, will make their way west towards France and ultimately the UK.

Outcomes of the PM Trip to the EPC Summit in Armenia

Multiple agreements were made at the EPC Summit in Yerevan, Armenia at the start of this week. But with the PM not back on British soil and heading into what are forecast to be very damaging local and devolved government elections for the Labour Party, what will the outcome of those agreements be for the British people, and what sacrifices were made that voters need to be made aware of?

The war in Iran, and Operation Freedom

With the standoff and military tensions continuing, and the impact downstream of supply lines through the Strait of Hormuz causing pain and tension across much of Europe, global attention is being paid to the daily developments in this arena. With announcements late this evening that the Operation Freedom escorts of shipping vessels will be paused while further negotiations with Iran take place, the UK has indicated that any assistance in securing the Straight will only come after US bombing of Iran has ceased.

Cost of State Borrowing Hits Record Highs

The cost of state borrowing has reached a dangerous level for the government and the country, with levels not seen since 1998, nearly 30 years ago. These cost increases are a direct correlation to market confidence in the UK economy, which is partly down global tensions and UK exposure, but also to perceived political fragility with the current government. This story will continue to play out over the coming days, with the local elections and their outcome likely to trigger government restructure in one form or another.
